As a person who has loved to read since I learned at age 4, when my mom was teaching my older brother, children's books have a special place in my heart. I have long written and illustrated my own books just for my daughter and nephews, and verbally weave stories to spark their imaginations and teach the values most important in our family.
When I saw the Barefoot Books catalog, it was the first one ever in which every book spoke to my values, and every title and image were ones I wanted to share with my children. The honoring of cultural diversity, dialogue, imagination, the environment... I thought: these are the books of the next generation! And then I learned that this eco-friendly company practices what it preaches.
So, I had to sign up as a Stallholder, to earn the collection for my own children's bookshelves, and to share these stories with others. I'm happy to be part of the Barefoot Books international team, and I'm happy you are here, too.
